City organisations are
hosting games and sports events like never before
With various sporting activities
scheduled to take place in different nodes of the city, Navi Mumbai
seems to be developing strong sporting culture. While three different
sports tournaments, Malhar Sports Festival, Fun Five Inter-school
cricket tournament for Under-6 boys at Bharati Vidyapeeth School,
Belapur and New Bombay Area School Association (NBASA) Inter-school
tournament are taking place concurrently. Besides, the city also
hosted three more sporting events DY Patil Intra-University Olympics,
Ryan Maggi Minithon Road Race and Navi Mumbai Olympics scheduled
to take place in span of one month. "The city is booming
in almost all segments and its time to promote active healthy
lifestyle. Therefore, to encourage the citizens' sports participation
we are organising this unique tourney spread over three weekends
and commencing from February 9," stated Jitendra Joshi, Director
of Sportz Village.
